"The Story: Book 1"

One of the captured portal openers, or a relative or friend of one of them, has asked Sensha for help in finding him/her.  The beginning on the story has her already knee-deep in a mystery of many missing portal openers.

She had already been searching for the legendary mysterious man, for a personal reason, but she the more she learns about this conspiracy, the more she realizes that she will need his talents.

Various adventurous things happen.  Different avenues keep things from getting monotonous.

At some later point, she's in a town where she happens across a filthy homeless beggar and it turns out to be Griffon.  He's completely lost all faith in himself.

After she escaped from him, his goons realized what a loser he was, and then left him.  His poor excuse for a reputation was completely squashed, and he couldn't get anyone to do anything for him.  After some mistreatment and embarrassment, he began to realize how pathetic he actually was and began to finally understand why.

She finds him and they talk.  Naturally, he no longer wants to capture her.  He understands that he had always envied her, and she helps to get him back on his feet, on the road to recovery, by cleaning him up and giving him a mission.

It's something small, like delivering a message, but it is something important.  Later in the story, he does other things for her that play a part in her victory.

He becomes a new person who does good things and finally gets respect from people.  By the end of the trilogy, he's a hero in his own right, but not for any great fighting.  He'll have his own little sub-storyline, and he'll be the one getting the girl, and I don't mean Sensha.

It'll be cute and sweet and inspirational: The feel-good quality.

During the course of the first book, Crysta and Grom will have tension between them.  He's crude, messy and a joyful smartass, which will inspire various insulting comments from her.  In many ways, they are equals, and neither will back down from the other.  They will provide some good comedy.

It will become a sort of love/hate relationship, on her part, because she will grow attracted to him, in spite of herself.

He's short and squat, but still not exactly unattractive.

In one scene, she will come across him naked, bathing in a shallow river, water only up to the ankles.  We'll get a full rear view, which will both attract and repulse her.  Not to our full view, he will shamelessly and nonchalantly turn around, smiling, while continuing to was off with a wet cloth.

That impressive sight will be the final click.  More "aggressive" dialogue as they come closer until they kiss.  It gets more excited and frantic as she starts clumsily taking her clothes off.  They're on a blanket that was laid out already, and she stops long enough to get a condom that she happened to have on her.

It's new to him, he asks what it is, she explains, and they proceed.

I have not decided if it will be part of that scene, or if it will be revealed in Book 2, in a flashback, but when she is not looking, he will intentionally puncture the condom.

If I have it in that scene, then it will be the first time the audience will truly question his motives.

The group will find the mysterious man, discover and neutralize threats to the portal openers, they will infiltrate the kingdom where the portal openers are held, they will rescue the portal openers, they will encounter the mastermind, but he will get away, and they will discover that the plan is bigger and more dangerous than they thought, but still not know exactly what is on the horizon.

The leader of that kingdom will be defeated in some capacity, or maybe he won't, but the good guys will manage to escape.

Crysta will have had enough, and she will want to go back home.  They will let her, and Mike will go as well.

When I imagine it as a movie, I would like to see this one end in the following way:

Crysta is sitting on the "table" in a hospital exam room, wearing a hospital gown.  She's had a full check up, to make sure she didn't catch any weird diseases, and the doctor (a female) comes back with her results.  The doctor is in good spirits, telling Crysta how she's in good condition, turns away to perform some task, then, in some very well comically timed way, reveals that Crysta is pregnant.

The camera is on the doctor for it, and then we hear a thump.  The doctor turns and we see Crysta fainted on the floor.  The doctor kneels down, takes her hand and tries to rouse her, and then go to credits.
