"The Story: Book 2"

My first imagined ending to Book 1, was the comedic one, but I suspect that for the smooth continuity of the story, it might be better if I made my initial beginning of Book 2 the ending of Book 1.

I might start with some goings on in the D'Warvine kingdom, such as a not-too-revealing meeting between Grom and someone.

Eventually, we go to Earth, at Crysta's parents' home.  I imagine it as a modest home near the backwoods of Louisiana, but I also imagine the house as mostly barren, so it's more a reflection of her mood than the actual setting.

But, since I want it to be reasonable, and not cliché, it will be nice middle class, completely common and unimpressive.  Or not.  I have no idea.  I want it reasonable, but not cliché.

Anyway, the baby is born, she's about a year old, and we see some goings on with the family, though I imagine Crysta's father had long since passed away.  I don't imagine her father there, but I don't want any stupid baggage like him having left her mother, or some other crap.  I want them to be just a nice, good family.

One night, Crysta has lain the baby down and goes to the kitchen to get something.  She comes back to see a portal open and Grom by the crib, holding the baby.  Crysta drops whatever she had, shocked, and questions him.  She's scared and angry, but trying to stay calm as she slowly moves closer as they speak.

Grom will talk about destiny, or something like that, she will grow more fearful, quicken, then he will run through the portal with her baby, and the portal will close right before Crysta reaches it.

She will scream and fall to the floor crying hysterically.

That's either the not-even-remotely comedic end to the first book, or the grabber for the second one.

I don't really have much thought out for the second book beyond that.

Basically, during the course of this book, we will discover that Grom is actually the D'Warvine king, and he has known a little about the human mastermind and his plan, and in order to stay alive as well as get to the bottom of it, he put a trusted look-a-like in his place, or faked his own death, or something, so he could move freely.

He also allowed himself to be scarred by fights, to be further disguised.  He also began behaving in a manner very unbecoming of a ruler.

He met Sensha not soon after.  Knowing of her, he attached himself to her.  She knew nothing of the truth, however.

For whatever political reason that I have yet to devise, it became imperative that he have a child, or another child, that was unknown to anyone but a very select few whom he trusted in his kingdom.  He intentionally impregnated Crysta, and retrieved the baby when it was at a suitable age, so he could raise and train the child.

If the king from book 1 is defeated, then there will still be conspirators trying to take over the D'Warvine kingdom.  If the king from book 1 was not defeated, then his is still working on a plan that was not revealed in the first book.

Book 2 is primarily about Grom trying to save his kingdom.  Since it's the strongest kingdom in the land, he knows that it is beyond vital that his kingdom remain strong for the coming invasion.

What we come to discover is that Grom himself is a brilliant mastermind.

We will see a montage of the boy growing older, learning and training, and will end with him at about 18 or so.  He will be about 5'5", give or take, of moderately dark completion, and with only a hint or point in his ears.  He will be strong, brave, and intelligent.

Grom will open a portal to Crysta and let her through to see her son.  As you might imagine, Crysta will be surprised at first, then quickly, extraordinarily furious and attack Grom.  That and her meeting her son will be intensely emotional scenes.

There will be a lot of intense dialogue between Crysta and Grom in later scenes.

Still not sure how to lead up to it, but nearer the end, the boy will be revealed as the true heir to the throne, and he will be the new king after the other king/conspirators have been dealt with.

I do not want to exclude Sensha or Mike from this book, but I don't really have anything in mind for them.  I would have to work them into it.

Also, don't have any place for the mysterious man.  I'll either have him be back at his cabin or possibly have him go back to the martial compound to do some "teaching", but no one of the book 1 group, nor the audience, will see his face.

Sensha and Grom will have parted ways, as they often do, somewhere between book 1 and 2, but at some point into book 2, they will reunite, for whatever reason, and then later, Sensha will discover the truth of who Grom is, some time after Crysta already has.

Like Crysta, she will be angry with him, but she will come to understand and reluctantly help him.

I'm really not sure how Mike will fit into it.  Of course, Crysta will have contacted him a day or two after the abduction, but he will be helpless and in a different state.  I suppose Sensha could bring him back after she finds out, so he can help.  Maybe at Crysta's request.

Will also have to show some of the goings-on of the mastermind and the smaller continent.

The conspiring kingdom will be defeated in some way.  Could possibly have Grom revealed as the true king.  He could return to the throne of his kingdom while his son takes over the formerly bad guy one.

  Not sure.
