You Think You'll Know Her
Through the open door,
seen across the room.
She sits at the mirror,
her face in full bloom.

Through the open window,
the moon the only light.
Her reflected visage,
amidst the pitch black night.

Glowing eyes that see you,
walking from behind.
Move to meet your own eyes,
and look inside your mind.

A most mysterious vision,
that knows you inside out.
She sees what you want,
and what you can't live without.

You know little of her,
though you've lived together long.
Your circumstance of meeting,
like a heartfelt song.

Emotions from that time,
with you still remain.
When you saw her in the moonlight,
that emotion still the same.

By a river's edge,
all alone she stood.
Looking into the water,
a reflection of your mood.

The things she said,
you feel the same.
And the sight of her eyes,
when the moon incame.

Uncertain of her purpose,
accepting that she is.
Many questions of her reason,
and why with you she lives.

The times at night,
that you held her tight.
Still her mysteries,
never came to light.

When you asked your whys,
and she closed your eyes.
And kissed your lips,
and told no lies,

When she said no words,
and you still didn't know.
Why she's there,
and where you'll go.

As the moon shines in,
making her eyes glow.
It's another day,
that you'll never know.
This poem was inspired by, and was sort of written to, the song, "You Think You Know Her", by Cause and Effect.
