Presence
When my body feels you calling,
it runs for you, arms open wide.
You lift my days when they are falling,
when your warmth takes me inside.

I see your smile and I hear you sighing,
while your embrace is held in mine.
You succeed without even trying,
to make everything fine.

In the daylight and your absence,
I'm sitting tied up on the ground.
Then you touch me with your sixth sense,
I am shaded and unbound.

When I see you stand before me,
simple pleasures seem profound.
Happiness cannot ignore me,
it holds me tight when you're around.
This poem was inspired by, and sort of written to, the song, "True Faith", by New Order.
