She's a beast of beauty in a frosted jungle
kneeling in the snow of white
beneath leaves that break the light
Flesh bare and eyes that stare
so deeply at my intrusion
beneath her canopy of illusion
It could not be, these trees and vines
and blooming flowers of blue and white
as delicate snowflakes gently alight
On leaves encased in ice
and on the ground they fall
then on her back as she moves to crawl
One hand slowly sinks into the snow
then the other into the carpet of frost
with grace and not a moment lost
Motion continuous and eyes attached
closer she draws with attention keen
unshaken by shivers though breath is seen
Is she the human that she appears
this untamed creature so near
is she reason to show faith or fear
I stand in awe, her beauty, my confusion
a fantasy in a dreamland
or is a strange reality at hand
She sniffs the air about me
looks me over, up and down
I remain unmoving and make no sound
She stops and rises to stand
and once again our eyes meet
so close, though in cold, I feel her heat
Her eyes close and her face moves to mine
until her lips meet my own and kiss
lovely, though by awe, short of bliss
She pulls away and stares again
and soon I notice the flakes are more
falling faster and larger than before
Gaze unbroken she takes steps back
and with every step more wind is heard
and between us a growing blizzard
Until she is gone, a vanished ghost
along with the flowers and jungle of frost
the sites of vines and leaves are lost
Still I stand in awe and cold
a fantasy in a dreamland
or is a strange reality at hand
