Random Stuff 04

I decided to take the time to get a few things into post.  It's a rare time when I can effectively do this and something else at the same time.

When there is a television series that I find exceptional, it tends to fall into one of two categories.  The first category is the series where every episodes seems to take longer than it "should" but in the best way, like you're getting extra.

The second category is those shows that seem to go by too quickly, leaving me wishing I could just watch the entire series in one sitting.  The key here is that I really, really, really want to see more.

In this new season of television viewing, there are two such shows; both of the latter category.  One being the half-hour comedy called The Class.  Humor aside (I'd say more about the humor, but I have to condense this post because of time), the show features one Lizzy Caplan, who is my favorite of the show.

She's one of those actresses whom I've seen in a few different roles, did not know they were all her, but was still notably attracted to her to some degree, though less so in Related, which I never watched.  I learned she was in it just a few minutes ago.  I'd seen commercials and made some brief pauses during channel surfing.  She looks better brunette.

The other show is called Heroes.  This show is close to exactly what kind of superhero show I've been wanting to see for a long time.  I've been wanting to see one that does not focus on just one hero, one where the heroes are not such through some kind of lab accident or something like that, one with a "realistic" atmosphere.

Granted I'd prefer an atmosphere more "realistic than this one has, but it's close enough.  I want the abilities of the heroes to be a little bit more incidental to the overall story in terms of how much the show expects the audience to focus on them.

I was watching the rest of a Japanese movie called Versus, and I had some ideas for a story or whatever.  Just some ideas, period.

One idea is an entity, which I have not named, but is a hermaphrodite, and is the god (for lack of a better word) of creation and destruction, which is, in this case, THE god.  It has sex with itself and gives birth to twins; a male and a female.

The female is the Master of Life.  She has control over all things living, but she cannot actually create life.  She can only maintain it and help it grow, so to speak.  If a person or plant were near death, she could maintain its life and help it get better, but if a person were sick because of something their body could not eventually defeat, she could not cure the person.  All she would be able to do is keep the person alive in that state of sickness.  She has the ability to reincarnate if her own body becomes unable to self-heal naturally.

The male the Master of Death, and he was still-born, but he has the ability to possess any dead body, as well as the ability to control dead bodies.  The drawback to this is that the bodies are still subject to the natural effects of decay, the when he is possessing a body, he is able to slow it down.  Naturally, he has to body hop.  There would be a tendency to have him be evil, but that does not necessarily have to be the case.

The other idea was of a man and woman called The Pair.  By the way, the overall premise was that the world would have a number of "special" people; all immortal in one sense or another.

Here's their story.  It's ancient Japan (or some other country) and there are two kingdoms (or whatever).  One kingdom is lead by a warlord with a lust for power and long immortality, but he believes strongly in a person having only what they are willing, and have the ability, to take for themselves.  He has no interest in sharing anything with anyone, but does respect those who are able to take it from him.  He has no queen, nor does he want one.

The other kingdom is ruled by a warlord who also has a lust for power, but he has a wife who, like the other warlord, lust for both power and immortality.  The queen is a cunning woman who knows how to get her way, and has all that she does through her husband.  He believes that she loves him, and would gladly give her anything she desires.  Given the time frame, she would never be able to rule a kingdom on her own, so she must act through manipulation and deception.

The two warlords have been fighting each other for decades, and it is the people of the land who have suffered the most.  With careful secrecy, people from both kingdoms strive to indirectly manipulate both warlords into a situation where they would be sure to kill each other.  It takes years to achieve, but the warlords eventually find themselves fighting each other in person during the height of their war.

The two warlords, the queen, and some type of "magical" person are all together.  The two warlords are supposed to slay each other, but it happens that the lone warlord slays the married one.  Since much of his kingdom has turned against him, it means he would try to slay as many people as was necessary to regain power.  While many would fight against him in this revolt, he would undoubtedly kill hundreds and escape death himself.

The manipulation is known to all parties, but this does not stop them.  With the death of the husband, it is known that while the queen would not remain a queen, she would still manage to acquire some power and seek revenge on those who participated in the plan.

In an act of desperation, the "magical" person places a curse on the warlord and the queen.  He lays it all out for them both.  Their lives will forever depend on each other.  The blood of either one has the ability to heal the other of any wound or ailment, but if either one should die, so shall the other.

The warlord and the queen despise each other, and have for a long time, and given the chance, either one would gladly kill the other.  This leaves both of them very vulnerable, and the "magical" guy offers them both banishment in place of execution.  With great displeasure, they both agree and are forced to stay together because there are still plenty of people who want one or both of them dead.

They must protect each other, though most of that workload is on him, since she has no useful physical skills.  As their lives go one, their hatred for each other diminishes, and he begins teaching her to fight. As centuries pass, they develop love for one another.  Eventually, they are, in every since, each others lives.

At some point, between the beginning and now, he is unable to fight or even walk on his own, and is unconscious for most of the time, and she must be the one who fights for both of them.  I'm not sure what would cause this, except for something "magical".
