Random Stuff 11

Just a note: All of the posts called Random Stuff may or may not be written over the course of several days. This one is an example of one that has been.

I just heard that someone wrote that Bill Clinton would provide moral authority to Hilary's either campaign or presidency; I forget which was said. Wow. If someone who lied under oath about their adultery is providing moral authority for you, then you must be a pretty freakin' bad person.

Yesterday (Thursday, January 25), I had to go out again after I'd already gotten in bed, and I mean, like, 1 minutes after. As I mentioned in a previous entry, I've been wearing leg weights. I was in a little bit of a hurry, plus I didn't want to go through the trouble of strapping them back on, so I left them off.

When I take them off, I notice the distinct difference when walking, but after I take my shoes off, it feels pretty much normal. Well, I'd had my shoes off for at least an hour, so all felt normal, but after I put my shoes back on, my feet felt light again. I'm not really surprised by it, but it's still an interesting experience.

I just re-checked the external hard drive I order. It's finally on it's way, but I had apparently gotten on sale. The first time I looked at it, I thought it was $114.99. Then next time I looked at it, it was $83.99. I looked at it again, just now, and it's back up to $114.99. That's pretty cool. Good thing I decided to go ahead and use my change to make up the rest of the price, instead of waiting to earn more cash.

Reminds me of years ago when I went to by the first Enigma album. It turned out that the store I went to had this deal where any album they were playing in the store, over the speaker, was on sale for the duration of it being played. The first Enigma album happened to being playing when I went in. That was so cool.

"If I'd known you were coming, I'd have gotten baked."

You can move either with the universe or against it, but if you choose to move against it, then don't complain about the friction.

I recently learned that movie production puts out the second most emissions of all industries. Petroleum production is #1.

It's believed by scientists that in 99 years, the temperature of the earth will increase by 2 to 3 degrees. But keep in mind that 30 years ago, some scientists believed that we were entering into a new ice age (it was in an issue of Newsweek, so it must have been true...).

Here's something to keep in mind while doing any thinking or acting regarding "global warming": it is not proven that humans are the cause of what they're calling "global warming". We don't even have a way to prove such a thing. What we do have, however, is proof of the activity of the sun effecting the earth's climate.

So, can you guess my point? Is it Liberal hypocrisy, bad scientists, bandwagon jumpers? No, it's not. The above may be misleading in you mind, but what I'm getting into is faith and the government.

It is only a matter of faith that humans are the cause of "global warming". It is only a matter of faith that humans can slow it. Just like it's only a matter of faith that animals deserve rights and should be saved.

Okay, so this will be about Liberal hypocrisy, as well. The Liberals are fired up about (their inaccurate view of) the separation of Church and State, but time and time again they demand that the government create laws that force people to behave according to their faiths.

In an episode of Bullshit, a handicapped woman was featured. She bought an undeveloped property on which she intended to have a new house built, but because of environmental laws, and the presence of a single bird, she could not touch that property, and was forced to live very inconveniently with a relative.

I have an uncle who cannot (or could not) do anything with a portion of his own property because one single crane decided to land there instead of all the other available land in the entire state.

There's a woman in California pushing for a law that could put a person in prison for one year if they gave a child under four even the slightest swat.

Did you know that parent dolphins with pin down their offspring underwater and hold them their as a disciplinary measure? They're air-breathing mammals, you know? They can drown. It can be construed as child abuse.

Every person has their own beliefs of what is right and wrong, but beliefs are exactly what they are. They are matters of faith. When you see P.E.T.A. or any or activist group making demands upon you and the government, take a moment to ask yourself and/or them what right do you have to demand that other people behave according to your faith.

Then ask, how many of my beliefs may I force you to follow?

When you've pondered that for a while, think about what a dictator is. Merriam-Webster has three definitions, but this is the one I like, "one ruling absolutely and often oppressively".

A dictator wants things a certain way, and expects everyone to behave accordingly. In all fairness, a dictatorship is not automatically a bad thing. It's possible for a dictator to be extremely benevolent. The point is that it's what the dictator wants that defines the law.

Deep down, it's evident that Liberals want to be dictators.

  "How's it going?"

  "Meh."

  "Nothing to complain about?"

"Nothing I´m GOING to complain about."
