Daytime Werewolves
August 15, 2006

I had a number of interesting dreams, this time, but only two that I recall enough of to tell.  Sometimes, as I awaken, I  mentally replay dreams in order to have a better chance of recalling more about them, after actually waking up.  Usually, I have to do this only when I have a great number of dreams.  I focused on two particular dreams, this time.

These two dreams are connected in that the one that happened after was supposed to be the prequel to the one that happened before.  While in the dream, I thought the first dream was one that I had days before, and that I was just remembering having it, but as I awakened a little more, I realized that I had never actually had the dream on a previous night.  I'm not entirely sure I actually had the dream, in the traditional sense, that night.

What it felt like was that before, or possibly even during, the second dream, I mentally fabricated a "memory" in such detail that it actually did feel like I had already had the dream a previous day.  Instead of having the dream, I simply had a false memory of having had the dream and what it was about.

Again, that's just what it felt like.  That said, I'm going to tell the two dreams in the order in which the events of the dreams occured.

The Prequel

Here's the physical setting.  In front of me is a large brick building that had been there a number of decades, but I can see only about one floor level.  About a foot off the ground, there is one of the building's ledges, so it looks as if part of the building is actually underground.  I don't notice any windows.

I'm standing on a grassy field, though I can't tell exactly how far it extends.  I'm under a large, white canopy tent, perhaps about 20 by 30 feet, longways towards the building.  Behind me, and only by dream knowledge do I know this, is some sort of vehicle like a pickup or possibly even an RV.  To my left are other hevicles, though I never really looked at them.  To my right are about 5 or 6 short, old camper trailers parked in a rather disorderly manner.  Along the left side, under the canopy, is a line of tables that appear set up for a buffet.

I was alone for about one second, and then people appeared as if it was on a Star Trek holodeck, but it wasn't.  The people were all smiling and happy, and a few of them welcomed me.  Others were talking to each other or getting food.  The few that welcomed me were preparing to begin an event they apparently do every day, or night as the case was supposed to be, but I'll explain that later.

It turned out that they were having what was the equivelant of a key party.  Instead of keys, they put their names into a container, and whoever you drew out, you joined in one of the camper trailers for sex.  I had stepped outside of the canopy, and the sun had apparently come up, perhaps 15 minutes ago.  It was entirely above the horizon, but still the early morning.  All the people were suddenly also outside of the canopy and walking passed me towards the vehicle behind me.

The people were yawning and turning into a sort of werewolves.  From the neck down, they maintained normal human shape, though I could see that their hands had a short coat of fur, and short, sharp claws.  Their heads turned into wolf heads, but they looked almost like cartoons.  They did not appear very menacing, and I'm not talking about their attitudes.

They walked passed me and were intent on entering the vehicle where they would sleep until dusk.

The Sequel

This part is what was supposed to have typically happened after the wolf people went to sleep, but not that particular time.  Since I had been on the land before they appeared, they welcomed me.  This dream revealed what happens to people who trespass after they are already at their party, not to mention a little insight into their buffet.

In this dream, I'm walking along side the ledge of the building towards the corner, which was to the left, in the other dream.  On the ground are two or three human skeletons picked clean ecept for a few small traces of meat.  A woman comes out from around the corner and begins picking up the bones.

A small community of people live around the corner of the building.  Around there, I think the ground is paved, but even if it is not, the building itself serves as a property line.  At night, any person who ventures onto the wolf people's area, are killed and eaten.  The people of the community around the corner know better, but other people from elsewhere do not.

The people around the corner gather the bones of the dead and grind them into powder.  When they have laundry to do, they mix the powder into water and use it as a detergent.  They hand wash their clothes, by the way.  Otherwise, they mix the powder in with their food for further nutrition.  They are not pleased that people get killed, but they will not let usable resources go to waste.

During the day, the canopy somehow turns into a three-sided run down wooden shack of the same size.  The missing wall is towards the building and serves as the entrance.  I'm not entirely sure what purpose the shack serves the people.  If anything, it's seems haunted or cursed.

I was talking to one of the older men.  We were inside the shack, and he and a couple of other people there seemed happy enough, but it's like ghosts like to make things happen.  You just have to mind your actions and be aware of set-ups that would allow them to mess with you.  The man stuck his upper body out of a window, I guess to get or look at something, and then the window slammed down on his back.

I thought he was going to be cut in half, but he wasn't.  He came back in, laughed a little, and said, "I should have seen that coming".

There was more to this dream, but I don't remember it clearly, as this was an allegedly older dream.
