Wet Cat
What we had was special,
it was like the water on your back.
That ran down with my fingers,
it was gentle like a cat.

Now the distance is so frightening,
why are you so far.
I wait for your return,
while I wonder where you are.

I remember touching,
I recall the moistness of your skin.
Stretching out beneath me,
my resistance wearing thin.

The look of your wet hair,
like a long, black waterfall.
And the moment you were there,
I felt my ears fill with your call.

What we had was special,
what we had was gentle like a cat.
Remembering those moments,
and waiting long to have you back.

Your promise to return,
to return to me again.
To lay eyes and hands upon me,
and for me to do the same.
This poem was inspired by, and sort of written to, the song, "Special", by New Order.

This is one of the times where the idea was better than the poem itself.
Just one of the reasons is the fact that a wet cat is not that attracive.
That did not hit me until later.
