A Gift For Love
A memory of her eyes in the moonlight
accompanies me on my search
A ghost of her fur soft against my face
and beside each other we had our place

Her scent on footprints in the snow
I try to follow but scarce and nowhere go
I listen for a cry to aid me
I look for any sign to show me

Bay a prayer for the lost
though my death may be the cost
My stomach shouts each moment louder
I do not hear for my hunger for her is greater

Show me her direction, a simple song upon the wind
give my hope something on which to depend
My eyes closed, and calm, I suffer the breeze
for the sweet reward that no chill could freeze

My deep breath fills me with the thought of her near
then realization opens my eyes now clear
Into the wind faster than my four feet know
as suddenly in the night it's like a glow

Cold wind blow through to my heart
cold wind blow through my soul
Cold wind blow her to my heart
cold wind blow through my soul

Warmed inside by burning desperation
a fiery faith allowing no hesitation
Though my eyes do not see, I know the path is true
by my very breath I now know that I will find you
This poem was inspired by part of an older song by U2, but I don't recall the name of the song.

This was kind of meant to be another mysterious poem leaving you wondering if it's a human or some other animal,
but there's too much of it that's obviously not human.
