Archangel
All corrupted by desire
Have no virtue, bound for fire
Then they cry out and wonder why
They can't see heaven in the sky

and as I lay me down to sleep
I dream to be in heaven's keep
and with my sword and wings to fly
I'll be an archangel when I die

Devils sneak with squinted eye
They always speak a vivid lie
Take your soul with the role of dice
and try to turn your heart to ice

and as I lay me down to sleep
I dream to be in heaven's keep
and with my sword and wings to fly
I'll be an archangel when I die

Find the devils, be their death
and hear them scream till their last breath
Their empty eyes, they question why
they won't see heaven in the sky

and as I lay me down to sleep
I dream to be in heaven's keep
and with my sword and wings to fly
I'll be an archangel when I die

Then I saw an archangel cry
His sword in me, he watched me die
This poem was inspired by, and written almost exactly to,
the English version of the song, "Engel", by Rammstein.

"Engel (English Edition) "

Live in virtue, no desire
In the grave an angel's choir
You look to heaven and wonder why
No one can see them in the sky

Just as the clouds have gone to sleep
Angels can be seen in heaven's keep
Alone in fear they question why
God damn not an angel when I die

Angels live, they never die
Apart from us, behind the sky
They're fading souls who've turned to ice
So ashen white in paradise

Just as the clouds have gone to sleep
Angels can be seen in heaven's keep
Alone in fear they question why
God damn not an angel when I die

God damn an angel when I die
Heaven must be hell in the sky
