I noticed that my collection was sorely low on haikus, so I whipped this one out.

I was surprised and, quite frankly, disturbed by how many adults did not know the reference.

It's a confucionism.  Something like, Never use an axe to swat a fly from a friend's nose.
I'm not sure if that's verbatum.
