Water Mall
Monday, April 2, 2001

There was a building that, only by dream knowledge, I knew was a church.  It had three normal floors (levels), and a very top level that was little more than a large room.  This was a nearly forgotten room that served as a storage area.  I liked to hang out in this room, and sort of made it my own as much as I could.

The first floor of the church had a sort of L-shaped hallway.  At the corner was an elevator and behind the elevator was a staircase.  The elevator went only up to the third floor, but the stairs went up to the forth.

There were actually two different dreams, and the elevator and stairs served as a point of phase shift between the two.  I don't recall much about the first dream, except that I had done some rather elaborate art projects (for lack of a better word) up there, and I was showing one to a female.

In the other dream, I was wanting to take some relatives up to see the room.  We got into the elevator and rode up to the third floor.  I told them we would have to take the stairs the rest of the way.

The dream fully made its switch here, because when we went through the door on the fourth level, we were in a shopping mall.

Whoever owned the mall wanted to build a newer and better one either above the existing one.

They wanted to use the old mall as a sort of course for some kind of game, on which I will elaborate later.  But the new level, not by their own doing, ended up serving that purpose better, so they decided to keep the first mall as it is.

  Now the weird part.

You know how in malls, they have the large open doorways that go into the larger department stores? Well, one of these doorways, defying the laws of nature, was filled with water.

This very large doorway lead to a ramp leading up to the new level of the mall, but the entire portal was filled with a veritable "block" of water.  On the second floor, the water was horizontally level with the floor, but on the first floor, the water was vertically level as if it were behind a wall.

The only way to get to the second floor from inside the mall was to enter the wall of water and swim up to the second floor.

  The second floor was fascinating.

Though everything was indoors, it was raining in the mall.  In some areas, it seemed like the water was coming through the roof.  In some it seemed to come from nowhere.  In a few areas, it seemed to not be raining.  All of this depended on the roof and what part of the mall it was.

The floor of the entire mall was made of a brown concrete.  Some floor sections were at different levels; like one level may be a step down from another.  The highest level had a thin layer of water on it.

The halls of the mall made a plus sign shape, and the floor had a regular pattern of small holes.

The "game" was to run from one end of the mall to the other while avoiding the different kinds of fire obstacles that would spring up from places, including the pattern of holes, though they were technically submerged in water.

My relatives were in the lower mall.  They were in their individual groups, and some of them did not know the others were there.  Even I did not know some of them were there until I happened to run across them.

I spent a little time with them, but I eventually wanted to go and run this course.  Oddly enough, the upper level seemed to be abandoned or closed down for the moment, but it was still working, because I ran the course and very much enjoyed it.
