Skin Trade

The dream was sort of like a movie.

It started out with a man who had some kind of pet, like a large dog, though I never actually saw it, and he needed a new skin for it.

He somehow got a hyena in his kitchen, and was going to kill it and remove its skin.

In this dream, skins are like clothes, and can be slipped in and out of.

The hyena behaved sort of like one of the three main ones in The Lion King, and it tried to strike a deal with the man.  The hyena said that he would give the man his skin, if the man would get him another one to wear.

The man agreed, and put a large fox skin on him.  The hyena was apprehensive at first, but he thought it looked pretty cool.  Then he left the house and went back out into the African wilds.

Though this was happening visually, the dialogue from before was still going, and it was the man talking to the hyena.

The dream pulled a small switch on me, and now the hyena was wearing a cheetah skin.  The man was explaining to the hyena that things were going to be a little different for him, and that he was not going to be able to behave in exactly the same way since all the other animals would think he was a cheetah.

The cheetah seemed to be having fun.
