Linnear & Tire Eggs & More

Oh, the dreams I had, today.  I had about five clear a vivid dreams that played out like movies.  Unfortunately, I forgot a lot of stuff upon waking, as always, but here's what I could recall.

I think this was the first one I had.  Speaking generally, it was a cross between the Nicholas Linnear novel series, by Eric Van Lustbader, that I've been reading and Jean-Claude Van Damme.  My point of view kept alternating from first person as Linnear, sort of, and second person, watching Van Damme and occasionally participating.

What happened in the dream was nothing that ever happened in the series.  As I went through the events, my dream knowledge let me sense that I was moving from book to book (imaginary), and by the end, it was kind of working its way back to the beginning.

It started out with two or three very intelligent young men, around their early 20's, though only one was in charge.  They had made themselves rich, and they lived in a building that will be explained throughout.

The dream took place in this building, but each floor was different.  There was only one floor that I recall where was, meaning, the ground level floor was a public library, and this was the young man's cover.

Another floor looked like a factory, or perhaps a storage or packing area, for some kind of machine parts or metal plating.  I have only a vague recollection of a floor that looked like a department store, and I don't recall what any other floors were like, except one, but that will come later.

I'm not sure what's going on, as far as the dream's storyline is concerned.  My dream self had directions, but even my dream knowledge was partially just along for the ride.

I was moving through the floors, trying to get somewhere, or find someone (presumably the young man in charge), and there were a few employees and some guards on each of the levels.

I was trying to sneak passed them, because each of the guards and employees had a microchip in their brain.  If I was seen, then I would have to fight whoever saw me, an if I knocked out or even killed the person, then their chip would kick in, and they would turn into something like a huge werewolf.

While that might be a good way to take care of intruders, the drawback was that if the intruder ran, the creature would kill anyone who happened to be on its way to the intruder, even fellow employees and guards.  Fortunately, none of them would change unless it was an intruder that hurt them.

As a mixed blessing, the creatures I encountered always got distracted by other employees long enough for me to get far enough away for the creature to not know where to find me.

I eventually got to the library level, and I went down some stairs, where I found the young man's home.  He lived on the first sublevel.  From the library, you enter his office of sorts.  Actually, the room looked all for show, perhaps so as to not let stray library patrons grow too suspicious.

The room was long with some doors at each end, and a long table in the middle.  Behind that was some windows high up on the wall (this is below ground, remember), and on the table was a gold statue of some kind of bird.  The bird was mounted on a section of a wooden limb that was lacquered so much you'd think it was metal.

When I came down the stairs, two of the young men saw me, and they took off running.  The dream sort of took an illogical turn when I went back up to the library, and the lead young man was one of those creatures, and in order to stop everything, I had to kill him.

I don't recall a lot of the specific action that went on, but at one point, when I was second person, I saw the bird statue on top of a short shelf, in the library.  I grabbed the statue, ran a few feet to the guy who looked like Van Damme, said something I don't recall but along the lines of, "Here, use this."

I held the wooden part, while he pulled on the gold part, and they separate.  He ran over to the creature and hit him with it, then stabbed its pointed wings into the creature's heart.

The creature was hurt but not bad enough.  It still attacked, there was some more action, and then Van Damme jumped and kicked the statue further into the creature.  It died, I was in first person point of view again, and suddenly people are in the library.

There's a dead werewolf-looking thing on the floor somewhere, but the people don't seem to be paying any mind to it.  There seems to be a news crew, and I'm not real sure if they're trying to talk to me.

I notice that right next to me is a small circle of children, and a woman is talking to them about a book.  People are happy, but I'm in a weird mental state.  It's like, now that the creature is dead, I don't know what to do.

I'm stuck in the creature hunting and fighting mind set, and I don't know how to get out, but I am fully aware of this, so it's not like I'm acting nuts.  I'm just looking around at everything semi-frantically, with my eyes wide trying to figure out how to get out of this mode.

Another dream takes place in the past of some alter-Earth.  I'm traveling on foot with a man older than myself, and with a woman who is about my age or maybe slightly younger.  Come to a town, and we rent a room at an inn, of sorts, but the rooms are more like small military bunks, as far as size goes.

There's one large bed on one side of the room, and a set of bunk beds to the right of the window on the other side.  I had dreamed something else before this, but still pertaining to this, but I don't recall it.

We were elsewhere, and it was like months earlier.  Something happened.  Myself and maybe the woman did something wrong, accidentally, like killed an animal.

Anyway, after that we had found a modern day rubber tire.  No one else knew that it was a rubber tire, because in this world, they are eggs for an animal.

They appear out of nowhere, and they hatch, or just change into, a strange looking gray creature with about six spindly legs, a semi-humanoid torso, and a head with what one might mistake as snakes on top.  Its skin was leathery, or at least that's my guess, and it would try to kill us.

This happened about three times, and I have no idea how we evaded it, but we did, and so it's months later, and we're in this room.

The man and I are sitting on the large bed, talking and looking through some small objects that we set out on the mattress.  The woman was sleeping, though it seemed there might have been another bed on the left side of the window.

The man got up and walked over to my side of the bed and looked at the window, it was cover by an off-white curtain that was translucent enough to see bright light through.

From his angle, the man could see some lights through it, and he was amazed.  He told me to come and look, because it was the rare time when you could see the setting sun (though it was more like dawn, outside), the rising moon, and Venus all at the same time.

I went over to where he was, and I looked.  They were in a line above but even with the horizon, and they were all almost the same size.  I went over to the window and was going to pull the curtain aside to get a better look.  It was okay to see them directly, because it was very foggy/misty outside.

I noticed something under the top edge of the blanket of the top bunk.  I pulled the cover down a little, and underneath was a rubber tire.  I quickly warned everyone, and the woman seemed awake at this point, and we all rushed out of the room.

The dream took an odd turn so that we were in this reality and in the present, and we had just run out of my house.  There was a red truck stopped in the middle of the street.  I noted the tires on the truck, but nothing ever came of that.

My dream self had thought about what they had done to cause these strange creatures to keep trying to kill them, and "he" had an idea on how they might be stopped.

I went through the front door and was in the front hall, and one of the creatures started moving towards me quickly.  It had its thin arms and hands up and it's sharp teeth showing, and right before it got to me, I told it I was sorry.

Almost immediately, its frightening expression went to a loving one.  The dream pretty much ended.

Another dream, which I recall even less about was one that seemed like I'd had part of it before, but I hadn't.

Anyway, the short version is that a man and a scientist that looks like D. B. Sweeny (an actor) are talking about an invention the scientist created.  The man was going to be a sort of agent to the scientist, and he was going to try to get a rich man to put up the money to mass-produce the invention.

The invention was an electronic device that could fundamentally communicate with any creature by way of a brainwave frequency.  You could not have actual conversations with a creature, but you could know what it was wanting.

It seemed, however, that it had one flaw.  It seemed that whenever it was turned on to the frequency for ants, it really messed up their organization.  Somehow, one of the ants communicated something back through the device, and it came out as computerized words.  The and said something like, "Quit pushing our number."

There was at least one more very cool dream, but I don't recall it.
