Be-lated Birthday | |||
I apparently had a birthday, a couple of days ago. It was on Sunday. The family was going to go out to eat, and then my neice mentioned that I was 31, now. Everyone, including me, had forgotten that it was my birthday. Just goes to show you how much I don't care. Unless I've been recently reminded by something or someone, I still have to do the math to remember my own age. Thankfully I was born on a five (1975). A 0 would have been easier, but hey. One thing I am curious about. Even though I have the information correct in the Myspace profile (I checked), my page was saying I was 31 about a week before my birthday. What's up with that?
Apart from daily responsabilities, I've been checking out some more new (to me) music groups. One group that sounds particularly good is called Lacuna Coil. They even have a blog here at Myspace. I've been only sampling the new music, so far, so I don't have any in-depth opinions, but they are the ones that sound the most appealing. The other groups are in no particular order, and it seems they all are at Myspace. Some of them are called goth, and some are called industrial. Rhea's Obsession (view blog) Tapping the Vein (view blog) Collide (view blog) kidneythieves (view blog)And they all seem to be 102 year old females. How 'bout that? I really wish people would use their accurate ages. Some of them might be accidents, but I'm sure some people actually believe they're being clever. I watched a few videos by Lacuna Coil. They're good, for the most part. One thing I don't like is that the people tend to move a bit over-dramatically, very close to looking rediculous. It's almost a little too much like stereotypical goth. Almost. Dark, I can appreciate. Goth, is just unfortunate.
01. HEAVEN'S DRIVE
01. Depend on you
I've been saving up to finish paying for a computer system that I've had on lay-away since last September, and I now have enough. I'm just waiting for my next bill, which will be early next month. I didn't think I'd have enough money until around the middle of next year, but I got it, and I'll be happy to finally have the computer. The computer that I currently call my own is a hand-me down, and it's about 15 or more years old. I've added a changed some hardware, and I suspect that it has something that is pulling a little more power than is optimal, because even when I reformatted the harddrive and reinstalled the OS, it still ran a little slower than when it was new. I hope I will ba able to upgrade the new one like I want to, though it may turn out that I'll effectively end up getting a another computer, or more accurately, building one. I have my eyes on this sweet, sweet motherboard, and I want a video card with S-Video capabilities, which is why I need a new motherboard. I'd really like a dual-CPU, but I'm not getting my hopes up. On the other hand, I can build a new comp for the price I am spending on the one on lay-away, so it's not exactly pie-in-the-sky-hopes. |
